This first half revolves around the lead up to crisis, which Barry has been informed he must sacrifice his life in. Finally, someone was able to breath fresh air into this dying show. This first half is actually incredible and the best writing the show has had since SEASON 1. Again, this was Wallace's first season being showrunner, and he NAILED it first try. And, credit to Eric Wallace, this two part format is actually a really smart and beneficial move, until he screwed it up later on by adding interlude and splitting it into 3-4 arcs AMONG those filler episodes, leaving 3-4 episodes for each arc. This season was the first season ever to use the graphic novel format in this show and out of all the seasons that used it, this season DEFINITELY did it the best, spreading it into two graphic novels with no interlude episodes to fully focus on the story with enough time to flesh it out, without it feeling drawn out like the previous seasons. This season is the start of Eric Wallace's run on The Flash, and it shows, or at least in the SECOND HALF.
